Made in India Mobile Brands and Smartphones

India would be the last country to be a stranger to the dependence on smartphones for everything. Considering how it is one of the most populous countries in the world, it makes them the largest user base of smartphones as well as the largest available labor to make these smartphones. It is natural that foreign companies set up their production houses in India, for the customers of India. Some are simple to assemble mobiles, while some do the complete manufacturing of the smartphones here.

I went on and on about the state of the Indian market for one reason only. In case you have any guilt or subconscious feeling about emptying your pockets on brands and mobiles that are not Indian, don’t. For every rupee, you spend on these phones (manufactured in India), the country profits from it in exchange for the utility you get. Now, only one purely Indian brand has made it to the list of best smartphones here, but go ahead, educate yourself.

The OnePlus Nord really impressed the market for two reasons.

It came during the time where people were glued to their phones, in the pandemic and because it’s got 5G! This phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC processor as well.

For a price as low as 30,000 INR, you’ve got 35% faster graphics than usual, a 4,115mAh battery, and a30T fast charging mode.

All encased in AMOLED display and gorilla glass.

Here are some of the best smart TV devices available in India.

The only pure-bred Indian brand to make it to the list.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 processor and boasts a decent HD+ resolution.

The phone has two variants: 2GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 48GB storage.

#5 Motorola One Fusion Plus

The phone features the Snapdragon 730G SoC processor and a pop-up camera that might seem a tad bit slow, especially if you’re one for capturing fleeting moments.

It comes along with an 18W turbo charger but you don’t need to use it often because the charge lasts about a day and a half with rigorous use.

The cameras are sensitive.

It automatically suggests you to use Night mode in the night and macro when you’re close to the object you want to shoot.

#6 Apple iPhone SE 2020

This phone was Apple’s way of telling the Indian market that we care about the price conscious lot of you.

One of the most interesting features I found about this phone is its IP67 rating, especially for the price it sells at. It is not too large and can easily be handled with one hand.

The phone is dependent on the A13 Bionic Hexa-core processor by Apple while displaying a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with Retina IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 750 x 1334 pixels resolution.

Why do these companies manufacture phones in India?

Before we get into what exactly these brands do in India, let’s discuss why this happens and how it is going to affect India and its market. Because of the demand, the Chinese companies thought to penetrate the Indian market from the inside, cut out the middlemen, and sell their phones at much larger profits to themselves while keeping it at costs that would appeal to the Indian masses.

Now, the Indian companies (and others too) only assemble the phones in India, they don’t manufacture them. This way they save the much dreaded import duties of 20% and the whole assembly process generates employment and attracts foreign investment. The ‘Make in India’ initiative grows.

Types of ‘Made in India’ Smartphones

By now it’s clear that the Indian market cannot solely depend on mobile phones manufactured by brands that are completely India. Therefore, for an easier explanation for your understanding, it can be divided into three. This way you’ll truly understand the list of made in India mobile brands and smartphones.
